Active Cotswold is hitting the road!
Cotswold District Council is working with Freedom Leisure and One Gloucestershire to put on a Health and Wellbeing Roadshow, as part of the Active Cotswold programme, to provide support to residents.
The roadshows will be a chance for residents to speak to professionals about how to live a healthy lifestyle and be more active!
We will be at the following locations with the NHS bus from 10am – 3pm:
Thursday 4th April, Cirencester Market Place
Tuesday 16th April, Chipping Campden Library
Thursday 25th April, Stow Market Square
Monday 20th May, Moreton-in-Marsh Town Centre
Thursday 20th June, Northleach Westwoods Centre
Thursday 27th June, Tetbury Tesco
Friday 28th June, Bourton-on-the-Water Co-op
Wednesday 3rd July, Fairford Community Centre
The NHS bus provides information on health and offers a space to sit and chat with the professionals about any concerns or advice you may need.
There will be basic exercise demos, including demos with resistance bands from our Physical Activity Community Support Officer, Kate Holland.
Social Prescribers from the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council will be there too to speak to residents.
There will also be a chance to check your blood pressure at all events!
Cllr Paul Hodgkinson, Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for residents to come and speak to the experts about everything health and wellbeing.
“I really encourage everyone to make the most of this opportunity and join us on the Active Cotswold Roadshow!”
Jason Evans, from Freedom Leisure, said, “This roadshow is all about getting people moving and being more active!
“If you would like support and information on how to be more active, please join us!
"It’s been great to work collaboratively with the District Council to put on this roadshow and we’re hopeful it will benefit many local people!”
