Corinium Museum extends Sunday opening hours
Visitors to the Corinium Museum will soon have even more opportunities to discover the archaeology of the Cotswolds as the museum prepares for all-day opening on Sundays.
From 1 October, the museum will be open daily from 10am to 4pm, providing residents and visitors with greater access to the museum's nationally significant collections, exhibitions, and displays.
The new opening hours also bring greater consistency, with the museum operating the same hours every day of the week throughout the year.
Emma Stuart, Director of Corinium Museum, said: "These new opening hours will allow us to welcome more visitors to the museum over the weekend and provide greater clarity about when we are open.
"Our collections, exhibitions and displays are a real jewel in the crown of any visit to Cirencester and the wider Cotswolds, and we want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to experience them."
Until now, the museum's opening hours varied depending on the season. During the summer months, the museum opened from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 2pm to 5pm on Sundays. In winter, it opened from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and 2pm to 4pm on Sundays.
The museum's Gallery exhibition space and museum shop, both free to enter, will also be open daily from 10am to 4pm.
The Corinium Museum is home to one of the most important collections of Romano-British antiquities in the country and tells the story of the people who lived in the Cotswolds from prehistory through to the modern day. The extended opening hours will make it easier than ever for visitors to explore the region's rich heritage and enjoy all that the museum has to offer.

Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. The principal collection consists of the highly significant finds from the Roman town of Corinium. However, the museum today is much more than that, taking you on a journey through time and charting the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern-day.
