Corinium Museum shines with Silver at regional tourism awards

The Corinium Museum in Cirencester is celebrating winning Silver in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category at the Bristol, Bath, Somerset, including Gloucestershire, Tourism Awards 2025.

The awards shine a spotlight on the very best in the region and celebrate excellence in accommodation, attractions, experiences, events, food and drink, visitor information, age-friendly businesses, sustainability, accessibility, customer service, dog-friendliness and more. The ceremony was held at the Apex City of Bath Hotel on Thursday November 20th.

Emma Stuart, Director of the Corinium Museum said: “These awards are a wonderful way to celebrate the unique heritage we all care for and help to acknowledge museum development and success over the past year. Being recognised regionally makes us all feel like our hard work to ensure the museum is a high-quality visitor attraction has paid off.

“I feel honoured that the museum was nominated a finalist and to receive a Silver Award reinforces our core goals, to preserve and display local archaeology for the benefit of our visitors and continue to be a leading attraction in the South West.”

The Corinium Museum is managed by not-for-profit leisure trust Freedom Leisure in partnership with Cotswold District Council.

Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. The principal collection consists of the highly significant finds from the Roman town of Corinium. However, the museum today is much more than that, taking you on a journey through time and charting the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern-day.
