Cotswold District Council to offer free online Covid resilience courses for independent businesses
Cotswold District Council is offering free online training courses to help local businesses remain Covid resilient as restrictions begin to ease.
With the main theme of ‘regulation free is not risk free’, the online course will help businesses determine which Covid measures they may need to retain or adopt, as well as advice on how to identify the most effective time to implement or reduce certain measures.
Rob Weaver, Cotswold District Council’s Chief Executive, said, “As restrictions ease across the country, we want business owners in our District to feel safe, secure and supported and to feel that their clients and employees are safe and supported too. The course will act as a reassurance for businesses by providing guidance and advice on how to keep businesses running smoothly.
“If the pandemic has shown us anything it’s just how important it is to be adaptable, versatile and resilient in challenging times and many of our Cotswold businesses have really stepped up over the past two years. By getting involved in the course, local businesses have a great opportunity to share their experiences with other business owners and discuss how they’ve learnt to cope.”
Marie Pawley, COVID Project Officer at Cotswold District Council said, “Unfortunately, Covid is very much still with us and during the course we will take businesses through the important issues that they may need to consider. This includes discussions on testing, vaccines, and determining what the relative risk is for their business.”
The courses take place online, with anyone interested able to register interest for a course, by emailing covid.secure@publicagroup.uk and include business name, address, contact details, preferred date and use the code CDC.
The courses started on 31 January and will take place every Monday and Friday until 28 February at 10am, lasting between 90 minutes and two hours. More courses may be announced at a later date.
