Crowdfund Cotswold

Free Crowdfund Cotswold Workshop in July

Got an idea for a community project in your area? Cotswold District Council is hosting a ‘free to attend’ Crowdfund Cotswold online workshop on Tuesday 12 July at 1:30 pm.

If you have ideas to improve your community space, or simply want to learn more about Crowdfund Cotswold, please sign up now. Book your place on the Crowdfund Cotswold - Project Creator Workshop.

Cllr Jenny Forde, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “We have recently visited many of the fantastic projects that are now completed and running activities for residents, families and children across the Cotswolds and it is truly incredible to see how local communities have embraced our new crowdfunding platform.

“Using  Crowdfund Cotswold, our residents have now raised over £380,000 since we began the scheme and it shows how well communities can come together to support the ideas they really care about.

“We are holding our latest free online workshop and I can’t wait to see what new ideas are put forward. If you’re a resident or community group with an idea for a project, big or small, we want to hear from you. We truly want to embrace the enthusiasm of our residents to help reimagine spaces in the District and to do things differently.

Join us to find out how you can pitch for up to £10,000 from the Council to help crowdfund your local community project. You'll also receive advice from crowdfunding experts Spacehive on developing your ideas, and you can join smaller break-out rooms for interactive, specialised support for your project.

What type of projects can Crowdfund Cotswold support?

Projects need to be locally rooted, tangible and serve a community purpose. Crowdfund Cotswold projects can be simple and creative such as a street mural or community garden, or more ambitious such as hosting large community events or feasibility studies.

What's important is that your project is tangible. People who will back your campaign will want to see where their money has gone. Your project should have a local benefit and not just be for a select few to enjoy. The more people your project appeals to, the more chance you stand of running a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Projects must be in the UK and can be led by any type of organisation or individual, you do not have to be a charity.

Looking for inspiration? The Spacehive project archive will give you a flavour of the types of projects that crowdfund with us.

Not quite sure about your idea? Tell us about it via this short form. We’ll look over it and offer advice on how best to proceed.
