Go ahead given to convert Cirencester pub into flats
Our councillors have given the green light to an application to convert the Waggon and Horses pub in London Rd, Cirencester into five flats
Cotswold District Councillors have given the green light to an application to convert the Waggon and Horses pub in London Rd, Cirencester into five flats.
After a long debate it was finally agreed to allow the change of use to go ahead with two conditions attached involving space for waste and recycling in the courtyard and parking spaces for two bikes for each flat.
Chair of planning Councillor Juliet Layton, speaking after the decision was made at Wednesday’s meeting of the full council said, “There were strong arguments from both those who wanted to keep the Waggon and Horses as a pub and those who felt the building would be of more benefit as flats.
“It is always a shame to lose an old pub in an area but there is a strong need for housing of this type and the four two bedroomed and one single bedroomed properties will help fill this need.”
