New councillor elected to Cotswold District Council
Liberal Democrat candidate Craig Thurling has been elected to represent The Rissingtons Ward on Cotswold District Council following the by-election held on 22 January.
The by-election, triggered by the resignation of Andrew Macclean, saw a voter turnout of 42.8%, with residents of The Rissington Ward casting their votes to elect a new councillor.
The current political composition of Cotswold District Council is as follows:
22 Liberal Democrat councillors
10 Conservative councillors
1 Green Party councillors
1 Independents
The Liberal Democrats retain their majority on the council.
The newly elected Councillor Craig Thurling will take up their position immediately and work alongside colleagues to represent the interests of The Rissingtons Ward and the wider Cotswold District.
