The Beeches by-election result

New councillor elected to Cotswold District Council

Liberal Democrat candidate Paul Evans has been elected to represent The Beeches ward on Cotswold District Council following the by-election held on 12 March.   

The by-election, triggered by the resignation of Nigel Robbins, saw a voter turnout of [33.8]%, with residents of The Beeches ward casting their votes to elect a new councillor.   

It means the political composition of Cotswold District Council is now as follows:    

22 Liberal Democrat councillors   

10 Conservative councillors   

1 Green Party councillors   

1 Independents   

The Liberal Democrats retain their majority on the council.   

The newly elected Councillor Paul Evans will take up their position immediately and work alongside colleagues to represent the interests of The Beeches ward and the wider Cotswold district.
