New councillors elected to Cotswold District and Gloucestershire County Councils

Liberal Democrat candidate, Naomi Bloomer, has been elected to represent St Michael’s ward on Cotswold District Council. Whilst, Andrea Pellegram, Liberal Democrat candidate, has been elected to represent Cirencester Park division on Gloucestershire County Council, following polls held on 2 July. 

The elections followed the resignation of Joe Harris, who previously served on both councils. 

The district council by-election for St Michael’s ward had a voter turnout of 32.23%. 

Following the result, the political composition of Cotswold District Council is now: 

  • 22 Liberal Democrat councillors 
  • 10 Conservative councillors 
  • 1 Green Party councillor 
  • 1 Independent councillor 

The Liberal Democrats retain overall control of the council. 

Councillor Naomi Bloomer has taken up their position with immediate effect and will work with colleagues to represent the interests of residents in St Michael’s ward and across the wider Cotswold district. 

Meanwhile, the by-election for Cirencester Park division saw a turnout of 28.48%. Councillor Andrea Pellegram has also assumed their role on Gloucestershire County Council.
