Sheep Street Car Park

Sheep Street car park to reopen for public use

The car park development of Sheep Street car park is due for completion this week and is expected to reopen for public use from Monday 16 March.

Works commenced in October 2019 to remove the old hospital building and prepare the site for a new layout to increase parking provision by 34 parking spaces bringing the total parking bays to 113, including five disabled bays.

The redeveloped Sheep Street car park benefits from an improved layout, new lighting and surfacing.

Cllr Mark Harris, Cabinet Member for Car Parks at Cotswold District Council, said: “It’s great to see these works completed. This additional parking in the town centre will ensure there is adequate parking available for residents and visitors.

“These works have been completed as part of the ongoing Cirencester Parking Project that will provide long-term solutions to parking shortages in the town.”

Sheep Street car park is a mixed-used car park for permit holders as well as short and long-stay parking. The car park will be open at all times and charges will apply from 8 am – 6 pm.

Drivers are reminded that paying for parking via mobile phone is quick and easy, see notice boards in each car park for details.
