Cotswold District Council will be requesting that local rail bosses respond to concerns from councillors, on behalf of local residents, with regards to the closure of ticket offices across the country.

Cotswold District Council has welcomed the news that the Cotswold National Landscape Board has dropped plans to designate the Cotswolds as a National Park, a move that could have had a detrimental impact on the District Council’s planning powers and caused housing prices to skyrocket.

This summer was the third year running of the Holiday Activity and Food Programme, providing 2439 children with free activities and 1773 free meals across the district.

A rare and important find has been unearthed in the Cotswold District. Two Roman cavalry swords along with remnants of their wooden scabbards and fitments were discovered by Glenn Manning during a metal detectorist rally in the north of the Cotswolds. There was also a broken copper alloy bowl discovered with the weaponry.
