The Annual General Meeting of Cotswold District Council took place last night (24 May 2023) at which the Leader of Cotswold District Council and Cabinet took office, following the 2023 Local Elections.

On Friday 12 May, the best in construction and the built environment from around the Cotswolds came together to celebrate the Cotswold District Council Local Building Excellence Awards.

Residents in Cotswolds may be asked to help the Council to gain a better understanding of the housing in the District as it undertakes its Housing Condition Survey. The survey will help the council better understand homes in the district to help it make positive decisions about improving housing in the future.

For the first time, residents in Cotswold District will need to show photographic ID to vote in person at this year’s local elections which are being held on 4 May. Residents without a valid form of ID have until 5pm on 25 April to apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate which will act as ID for people voting at a polling station.

Cotswold District Council is encouraging owners of older buildings who want to make their homes more energy efficient to speak to the council for expert advice on how to do it.

Cotswold District Council has completed a full procurement process to identify providers to run the district council’s leisure and culture services. These contracts include three leisure centres and the Corinium Museum & Resource Centre.

Cotswold District Council’s Clean and Green team is inviting local communities to get behind this year’s Great British Spring Clean (17 March to 2 April), the national campaign by Keep Britain Tidy which encourages people of all ages to go out into their neighbourhoods to pick up litter.

Over a thousand Cotswold businesses in the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors will benefit from a total of over £7.6 million in relief on their Business Rates in the 2023/24 financial year.
