Cotswold District Council has now paid out over £27.5 million in business support grants to over 2,200 businesses in the district.

Cotswold District Council has seen a large increase in the number of burning complaints in the last few weeks and is calling on residents to be more considerate of those with respiratory conditions and people in self-isolation.

Following the request by Secretary of State that councils reopen cemeteries to the public, Cotswold District Council has confirmed that Chesterton and Stratton cemeteries in Cirencester will be open to the public between 4 pm and 8 pm each weekday and open between 9 am and 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday for visiting of graves.

Major progress is being made in processing Government grants for eligible businesses across the District.

Cotswold District Council confirms there are no changes to recycling and general household waste collections over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Residents are asked to present their bins and containers as per their regular collection schedule.

Cotswold District Council is making good progress in processing grant payments to local businesses affected by the coronavirus outbreak.  

The Council is working closely with the Government to process both the business rates relief scheme and distribute the business grants announced in response to the COVID-19 crisis. 

Residents across the Cotswolds are being urged to stick strictly to the Government’s advice and stay at home in the coming days and weeks, with the peak of the coronavirus pandemic yet to come.
